Elle Thacker / BIO

I have always loved working with my hands and creating interesting stuff. As a kid it was with whatever we had lying around the house and yard. I took a few community arts classes after college when I lived in Northern Virginia. Since moving to Norfolk VA in 2001, I have developed my artwork slowly through trial and error along with tapping into my spiritual side. My focus is on poured acrylic paint to create abstract and impressionist artwork. I love working with lots of color while playing with paint! In addition, my cutout pieces come from a love of using every-last bit of paint including dried paint leftover from poured artwork. Then I find creatures and things that I cut out to make interesting new paintings. This creates a three-dimensional feel to my artwork.
